Geraldo Interview

I believe I've posted the audio version of this interview here already. If so, it should be in the archives. Still, I don't think it was unedited so here you go. This is part one of the famous Geraldo interview. It's in seven parts so you can either watch them here if they pop up at the end or go to Youtube and finish watching it there. Here's a link to the profile of the person who uploaded it so you can find it in their videos. Fully unedited, this is a actually a really good interview in spite of Geraldo's combative attitude. He spends a good deal of the time trying to goad Manson into saying things that sound crazy or violent. All that aside, though, it's a long interview and Charlie gets to say a lot of things that you may not have heard. He actually tries to be very clear and concise. No music here but I just thought this would be of interest to anyone who has never seen the unedited version.

This is indeed a fantastic interview. I watched it last year and thought Geraldo came off as such an asshole. He has nowhere the mental capacity of Manson. Charlie plays him like a fiddle. I was wondering if you've gotten any interviews with Manson family members or associates? I emailed Bobby Beausoleil a few years back and actually received a response. He is such a talented artist and has such spirit, as well being as a genuinely down-to-earth guy who entertains no delusions about his life in prison. He has long ago come to terms with the fact that he will never be free and devotes his time to helping newcomers to jail, so that they get out with the tools they need to ensure they never return. I would love to read an interview about his musical endeavors...

I've been in touch with a couple of them over the years. I think there is an interview on his website that's pretty good. Did you see the double disc version of "Lucifer Rising" here? Look through the archives and it shouldn't be hard to find.

Hi again,
I see you chose against posting "Poor Old Prisoner Boy" which is understandable as it's just a poorer quality version of the San Quentin album.

Well my copy of "The Son Of Man" arrived in the mail a few weeks ago and I got around to digitizing it tonight, so I thought I'd send it to you, hopefully you can post it.

This is a completley new recording, I've never heard it elsewhere. The LP's limited to 1000 copies (hand numbered) and comes with 2 inserts, 2 pins and the B side is etched with a sketch of Charlies. It's a pretty cool album, and the music is great! Starts off with a call out "I'm gonna get into playin' some music", it's a prison tape but it's very good quality (better than Prisoner Boy by far) and my copy is in immaculate shape so it's a very noise free rip.

Anyways, here you go!

I also have a copy of the ever elusive "A Taste Of Freedom" CD coming in the mail, so I'll upload that as well (if you want)
Cheers,

I can't get your link to work. Sure you copied it right? If you wouldn't mind, could you upload it to sharebee? It distributes the file on Rapidshare, Megaupload, etc. That's what I usually use. I can't wait to hear it!

Oh, that's weird so here's it on Sharebee. I'll be sure to use that from now on, it gives people options which is great.

And my copy of A Taste Of Freedom was mailed on Monday so it should be here soon, I'm really looking forward to that as it's the 1 thing I haven't heard.

Hey guys. So I'm moving along with this day, and I really enjoyed the interview... I'm surprised I'd never seen it previously. Thanks for the update. And I'd also like to thanks gobacktogo for the Son of Man. I've really been enjoying it.

Never let this blog die!

Thanks for the re-up. I'll post it later on today. Can't wait for "Taste Of Freedom", too. I've heard one track from it. I think it's all spoken word stuff from when they took his guitar away. Have you heard the double spoken word album on here?

Also, thanks for the comment Jack. Glad you like the blog. It's two years old now and I think it's pretty comprehensive.

Yeah I heard '38 Horses' off the ATWA website, it sounds like a really cool disc.
And yes of course I've heard "Manson Speaks" that is a fantastic collection of spoken word, I love the poetry & prose (Disc 1).
I may also be getting Fear Power God sometime soon (for the 2nd time) as I sold my vinyl copy for $50 a few years back. Now I want it again, haha.
Cheers, I'm glad you posted the album. Like you said it's nice to see a totally new record on here. The picking is slim these days.

I noticed the end of side B was pretty fuzzy with a lot of interference. But otherwise, great find!
